Apple already left the public in the dark with the iPhone 14 , as the manufacturer traditionally does not reveal the capacity of the built-in batteries. No different with the new Apple Watch SE, the Apple Watch Series 8 and also with the extreme Apple Watch Ultra . We only know that the two smartwatches in the well-known design run for up to 18 hours at a time, the new Apple Watch Ultra even up to 36 hours.
Apple Watch Ultra: Massive battery outshines Series 8
However, Apple must be more willing to provide information to authorities and state the actual size of the batteries (source: MySmartPrice ). As expected, there are no surprises with the Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch 8, because their batteries are more or less the same as their immediate predecessors . But there is much more to the Apple Watch Ultra. The numbers prove it:
- Apple Watch SE 40mm: 245mAh
- Apple Watch SE 44mm: 296mAh
- Apple Watch Series 8 41mm: 282mAh
- Apple Watch Series 8 45mm: 308mAh
- Apple Watch Ultra 49mm: 542mAh
Compared to the Apple Watch 8 battery, the Apple Watch Ultra has a 76 percent (45 mm) or even 92 percent (41 mm) larger battery. Ergo: Even if the hardware capacity has only been almost doubled compared to the smallest model of the Series 8, the Ultra always manages twice the runtime of 36 vs. 18 hours with slightly less than double the capacity (76 percent). Accordingly, Apple is likely to use other tricks to increase the efficiency of the smartwatch.
A very nice buzz:
Apple's extreme smartwatch on the road to success
If you look at the pre-orders alone, the Apple Watch Ultra is already a huge success. If you buy from Apple now, you won't get any of the models until the official start of sales on September 23rd. Instead, you have to wait several weeks. Depending on the bracelet you choose, the Apple Watch Ultra will only be available in mid to late October or sometimes even in November. The price of almost 1,000 euros does not deter customers at the moment.
